South African company law: An overview


Corporate law or company law is a highly diverse practice and is integral to both legal and business industries. It can be difficult to navigate if you don’t have a good grasp of the basics.

This short course will take you through the general aspects of company law and is aimed at those who want a quick recap of company law, or those who need foundational knowledge of company law in SA because they find themselves in an unfamiliar territory.

Thandiwe Nhlapho is a senior associate in the corporate and commercial department at Fasken. Thandiwe’s experience includes advising clients on various corporate transactions, as well as drafting and vetting transaction documents including sale agreements (shares, businesses and other), share subscription, repurchase agreements, loan agreements, board and shareholder resolutions. She also conducts legal due diligence investigations. Thandiwe has worked on mergers and acquisitions, restructures, B-BBEE transactions for listed and unlisted corporate clients in the local and international arena in a number of industries and sectors including, financial services, liquid fuels, information technology, media minerals and energy.

How much?

R900 per person


A certificate of attendance from UCT will be issued to those who attend all two sessions of the course.

Complete and submit the registration form. You will then be given the payment information. Please note that registrations will not be accepted until payment has been made.

One or two days before the course, we will send you the Zoom link. You will need to register and use a password to access the course.
